For 10 years Bert Keizer, a dutch doctor working in a nursing home in Amsterdam kept a diary of his experiences. At the time, there was no legal framework for euthanasia in the Netherlands, but it was tolerated if certain conditions were met. The result, the book ‘Dancing With Mister D’ became an unexpected best seller in the Netherlands.
